I. School History:

(A) Minsyong Junior High School opened classes in Dachi in August 1969 and temporarily borrowed classrooms from Dachi Elementary School .

(B) Minsyong Junior High School established Minsyong Junior High School in Dachi and temporarily used classrooms from Shulin Elementary School. The principal was Ho Ming Tang.

     (C) Minsyong Junior High School in Dachi separated from Minsyong Junior High School in August. It was renamedDaji Junior High School . The first

           principal was Yang Jiu Yao.

 

(D) Eight principals have spent their time in Daji Junior High School in its thirty-year history, including Yang Jiu Yao, Juang Song Ji, Wu Wang Shen,

      Yang Yen Fu, Huang Ren Lee, Huang Yi Chun, Lou Min Du and the present principal, Sue Mu Shin.

 

      II. School and Community:

(A) Our school district includes Dachi Elementary School, Songshan Elementary School,Yiren Elementary School, and Shakeng Elementary School.

      (Shioulin and Fule Elementary School students are encouraged to come tothis school, too).

(B) Our school is located in Minsyong,near Second High Way, on County Road 166, Neipu Tsai,Dachi Village, 4 km north of Chiayi and 9 km east of

      Minsyong .

 III. The Hope Project:

    (A)1999.10.22  The school buildings sustained great damages in the Great Earthquake of Chiayi, with epicenter in Minsyong. Professional

          surveys determined that the school must be torn down for safety.

     (B)1999.11.01  The school was selected by the Buddhist Tzu Chi Compassionate Relief Foundation to be funded for the rebuilding process (Project Hope).

     (C)2000.08.20  Wing-Tat Construction started the rebuilding process.

     (D)2001.05.30  Wing-Tat Construction, Mao-Chin Inc. and Chang-Huei Steel together finished the project. The total cost was 114,093,318 NT.

          The new school has 6779.99 square meters of floor space.

     (E)2000.12.08  2001.02.17  2001.04.07  2001.06.07 Master Cheng Yen visited the school to check on the construction progress.

     (F)2001.03.17~08.12  The landscaping process was completed by Tzu Chi volunteers from Chiayi,Kaohsiung and Pingtung.

     (G)2001.12.08  The school building was completed.

 IV. School Mission Statement and Educational Goals:

     (A) School Mission Statement:

           education.

      (4)Development: create a multiple-subject learning environment and encourage the live-and-learn concept to achieve continuous self-growth.

    (B) Educational Goals: Implement Student's Moral Education

          (1)Keeping the order: Form students’ good discipline,and train  students to obey the law. 

          (2)Loving neatness: Form students’ manners of loving neatness, and  keep a neat and tidy environment.

          (3)Studying hard: Form student's hardworking attitude, and establish a  conception of life-long learning.

          (4)Being polite: Form student's polite manners,and promote a peaceful  and harmonious society.

 V. School Features:

    (A) The school has established one class of fine arts in 2004, coaching students with artistic interest or talent.

     (B)The school has numerous green plants, trees and flowers. It is becoming an environmentally friendly school land a everlasting campus..

     (C)The teachers educate students to have a healthy cultural and career understanding with the support of Buddhist Tzu Chi Compassionate Relief

          Foundation.
